Ultrasonic Tube Sealer Welding System

Tech-Sonic's Falcon-K ultrasonic metal welder simultaneously seals and cuts copper and aluminum tubes with diameters / cross-sections of 2 mm to 12 mm (0.8661 inches) with restriction on wall size. It is most often used for charge and injection tubes used in the manufacture of air conditioning, HVAC and refrigeration systems, capillary and bulb temperature sensors, and other products that require copper or aluminum tubing.

Ultrasonic welding has totally changed the labor intensive, unclean process of charging compressors with refrigerant. Customers have reduced labor costs in excess of 60 percent by replacing brazing with ultrasonic welding. The operator at the refrigerant charging station can also easily use the one-step Falcon-K to crimp, ultrasonically weld and cut the tube. There are also material cost savings: Vise grips and side cutters are no longer needed, as well as the environmentally damaging material and natural gas usage associated with brazing.

An Ex upgrade able to seal tubes containing explosive material should be certified and available in 2009.
